Petplan is an experienced company that offers insurance policies for horses, dogs, and cats.  Unlike many other pet insurance companies, Petplan’s sole focus is on pet insurance.

They offer consumers four different policies for dogs and cats — Essential, Classic 1, Classic 2 and Ultimate.  Each policy offers consumers a generous annual benefit limit, low excess, and reasonable premiums.  Their policies also include many features not covered by their competitor’s insurance policies.

Petplan is a subsidiary of Allianz Insurance plc, a large financial services company headquartered in Germany.  The insurance policies provided by Petplan are underwritten by MS Amlin Syndicate 2001 at Lloyd’s.

The Benefits of Petplan Pet Insurance

Pet ownership can be quite expensive.  Vaccinations, food, beds, jackets, and routine treatments can be quite costly over the course of a year.  If your pet has an accidental injury or illness, you may also have to pay thousands of dollars in vet fees.

Many Australians are turning to pet insurance to reduce the cost of taking their pets to the vet.  In return for paying a small monthly premium, you will receive assistance when paying a vet bill.  This can make it much easier to handle unexpected illnesses and injuries to your pets.

One clear advantage of having pet insurance is that you can obtain the best possible care for your pet.  With the help of the insurance company, you can pursue treatment options costing thousands without going into debt.  You will also be more likely to take your pet to the vet if you “suspect” they are ill.  This can help you obtain treatment earlier for your pet, potentially saving their life.

Petplan insurance plans offer consumers 100% coverage of veterinary bills.  They are one of the few pet insurance companies to do so.  Their policies are packed with features and there are many optional extras available.

If you have Petplan insurance, you can take your pet to any qualified veterinarian across Australia.  You can take your pet to the best vets in the country, giving them the best chance at survival.  Petplan is also one of a handful of insurance policies to offer alternative or complementary treatments.  Let’s take a closer look at the features of these policies.
